Table Rolls
Everyone loves these. Sweet enough to satisfy the children, substantial enough to satisfy the men. Perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 3 c flour
- 1 & 1/2 t salt
- 1 & 1/2 T sugar
- 4 t butter or shortening
- 4 t butter or shortening
- 1 c lukewarm water
- 1 large egg
- 1 beaten egg with water to glaze rolls
Instructions
- Mix water, yeast and sugar. Add the rest of the ingredients except teh beaten egg.
- Knead for a few minutes. Let rise for an hour. Knead again. Let rise for half an hour.
- Form dough into 12 equal balls. Let rise haflf an hour.
- Shape balls into tear drop shape and then flatten. Roll up resulting triangle starting witht he wide end to narrow.
- Let rise again for half an hour. Brush rolls with egg and water mixture.
- Bake at 375 degrees until brown, about 10-15 minutes.
