Hi, I'm Will McCann. My hobbies are hiking, running, weightlifting, and playing sports like basketball and tennis. I also like computer projects like making this website, making scripts, automating tasks, etc. This page is a brief overview of who I am and what I've done.
Timeline
1990: Born in Kenosha, WI
2002: First became interested in computer projects and learning to code -- TI-83 BASIC anyone?
2006: Moved to Shorewood, WI
2008: Moved to Oxford, OH, enrolled at Miami University
2011: Qualified for and competed in the National College Boxing Association national tournament, West Point, NY (Eisenhower Hall)
2013: Moved to Omaha, NE - began my eleven year career at FNBO - starting as a teller
2014: After cashing a washed check for a customer, became interested in fraud mitigation, began my career in fraud prevention
2016: Became involved in high risk credit card fraud - concentrating in bust-out and synthetic identity fraud
2019: Finally graduated college, degree from University of Nebraska at Omaha , focuses in Economics, History, and Sociology
2022: Became interested in leveraging data to prevent fraud. Honed my skills in SQL & Python
2024: Left job at FNBO, began sabbatical , Backpacked throughout Europe, mostly in Spain & Portugal. Completed Camino de Santiago - the Portugues Way
2024: Moved to Alexandria, VA
2025: Accepted role at NWFCU for Lead Fraud Analyst
